Mason Jar Salad

What you need:

·       Wide-mouth mason jar with lid

·       Hearty vegetables like carrots, cabbage, peas, jicama, whatever you love

·       Romaine or greens of your choice

·       Seeds, nuts, or a protein

·       $50,000 Vinaigrette

How to build it:

Start with the dressing at the bottom. Then layer in your heartiest vegetables. They'll marinate in the vinaigrette without going soggy. Next comes your greens. I use romaine because it stays crisp and holds up in the jar; spring mix tends to wilt and I've never forgiven it for that. Top it off with seeds, nuts, a protein. This is where you get to have a little fun.

Bam! It’s done.

The first time I saw this I said "oh! That's genius" and I rarely call things genius.
